The month of July was busy and exciting for our family. After expecting to spend most of the summer with my feet propped up and stretched out on the couch, all of our activities were surprising for us... and JOYFULLY accepted! Things got kicked off with a visit from Beppe. She came for 6 days early in July. We had so much fun together. There is nothing like having my mom here to help me get myself organized and to complete projects around the house, while still soaking up quality time, good conversation, coffee breaks, and some adventures.
While she was here we totally rearranged my upstairs to prepare for Baby Bury. Silas now has a twin bed in the smaller bedroom, and the larger room is ready for the baby and for the baby helpers :) We were able to combine guest room furniture with baby furniture and make it possible for family to come and stay with us without the kiddos having to share a room from the beginning. I LOVE the paint color we picked, adore my new rocking chair, and am completely thrilled with Silas' big boy room.
We also spent an entire morning picking berries at a local farm. Blueberries and raspberries were abundant! Silas had a total blast picking berries for his own bucket. He also ate enough blueberries to qualify for a meal.
Collectively we picked enough raspberries to make a cobbler, have them in our cereal, make a raspberry sauce to freeze, and to eat by the handful whenever we wanted to throughout the day. At $1 a pound, there was no need to be conservative with our portions!
Silas had a great time playing with Beppe and we both cannot wait for this new little baby to be born so that she AND Grandpa can come back!
